Road Trip Itinerary from Tromsø to Lofoten, Northern Norway

📍 Day 1: Arrive in Tromsø
Arrive via Tromsø Airport (TOS)
Pick up your rental car
Explore downtown Tromsø: Arctic Cathedral, Polaria Museum, and city cafés
Take the Fjellheisen cable car at sunset or for aurora viewing
🛏️ Stay: 1 night in Tromsø
📍 Day 2: Tromsø ➝ Sommarøy (1.5 hrs drive)
Drive through coastal landscapes to Sommarøy Island
Stop for photos at Kattfjordeidet viewpoint
Kayaking, beach walks, or Northern Lights photography
🛏️ Stay: 1 night in a cabin or seaside guesthouse
📍 Day 3: Sommarøy ➝ Senja (3 hrs drive via ferry or road)
Drive or take ferry from Brensholmen to Senja
Explore Bergsbotn, Ersfjord Beach, and Tungeneset
Optional hiking: Segla or Husfjellet
🛏️ Stay: 1 night in Hamn i Senja or Mefjordvær
📍 Day 4: Senja ➝ Andøya ➝ Svolvær (Lofoten) (5–6 hrs with ferry)
Drive scenic Andøya route via Andenes (optionally visit whale safari)
Continue to Lofoten Islands via ferry (Andenes to Gryllefjord or via road)
🛏️ Stay: 2 nights in Lofoten (Svolvær, Henningsvær, or Reine)
📍 Day 5: Explore Lofoten
Visit fishing villages: Nusfjord, Reine, Å
Hike to Ryten or visit Haukland Beach
Capture classic red cabins (rorbuer) against jagged peaks
🛏️ Stay: Same accommodation as Day 4
📍 Day 6: Lofoten ➝ Narvik ➝ Tromsø (7–8 hrs drive)
Start early and enjoy scenic inland drive back
Optional overnight stop in Narvik or Setermoen for a break
🛏️ Stay: Return to Tromsø for final night
📍 Day 7: Depart from Tromsø
Morning stroll or souvenir shopping in the city
Drop off rental car and fly out of Tromsø Airport
